Use the WhatsApp tab in a bot to configure the number, persona, response settings, and access controls.

• Assign a WhatsApp number to the bot (manual entry or embedded signup).
• Set Bot purpose and Docs summary to keep answers on-topic.
• Use control panel for logs, response settings, users, and departments.

Map your WhatsApp number to the selected bot, then Save settings.

• Enter the WhatsApp number in the WhatsApp tab and click Save settings.
• If using embedded signup, complete the Meta flow to authorize the number.
• Connection status updates after saving.

Use Meta embedded signup when you need to authorize a number for this bot.

• Open the WhatsApp tab, click “Run embedded signup”, and complete the Meta flow.
• Choose business, number, and grant permissions as prompted.
• After FINISH, save number + purpose/summary in the WhatsApp tab.

Persist the number and persona after Meta returns FINISH.

• Copy the phone number ID if Meta shows it.
• Fill Bot purpose and Docs summary, then Save settings.
• Status updates to Pluggable/Done once saved.

Verify messages before opening to everyone.

• Add yourself to the whitelist if you want a controlled test.
• Send starter prompts that the bot should answer from your Documents.
• Watch live transcripts (where enabled) and adjust purpose/summary if needed.

If something fails, start with these checks.

• Embedded signup cancelled: rerun the flow from the WhatsApp tab.
• No messages going out: confirm the number is saved and webhook requirements are met on the Meta side.
• Wrong persona showing: update purpose/summary and save again.
